Any educator who has earned a master's degree or completed 36 hours beyond the bachelor's degree and has actively participated in the school improvement process may earn CRU's for work related to strategic and continuous school improvement planning. A maximum of 90 CRU's is all one needs to renew a license in a five-year license renewal period. For school improvement planning CRUs are calculated based upon total number of hours involved in the school improvement planning process. The total number of hours will be rounded down to an even number and divided by two (example – 25 hours =12 hours).
Superintendents and/or principals must create usernames and passwords for applicants before they can complete the application form. Eligible applicants who already have a CRU username and password may access the CRU application at https://dc.doe.state.in.us/DOEOnline/Login.aspx. Eligible applicants who do not a username or password should contact their local supervisor (building principal, superintendent, or licensed educator in the district central office) to obtain a username and password. Superintendents in need of a username and password should contract the Office of Teacher Licensing and Accreditation to obtain a username and password at 317-232-9060 or 800-894-4044.
