The overall format and structure for health rubrics was adopted from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Health Curriculum Analysis Tool and the American Cancer Society's National Health Education Standards: Achieving Excellence. Reviewers were selected using an application process, which required that they meet the qualifications of a Highly Qualified Teacher. All reviewers were assigned into grade bands and trained in the use of the rubrics and other review process support documents.

Reviewer Recommendations

On July 30, 2010, the appointed reviewers met to discuss their individual reviews and reach consensus on a total score for each textbook or set of instructional materials. As part of the effort to better inform and assist school corporations in making purchasing decisions that best fit local needs and student success, the total score sheets for all materials reviewed are made publicly available.
