Funding for IB students qualifying for free, reduced-price school meals

There is currently no state funding for students taking IB exams.  However, the Indiana Department of Education submitted a request as part of the 2008 AP federal grant application that IB examinations and registrations for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch be covered as part of the AP grant.  That provision was included in the 2008 grant award, and the Department of Education intends to submit the same request as part of the 2009 application.  When schools register their students in November 2008 for the May 2009 examinations, they should identify the number of registrations and examinations that would qualify to be covered by the grant.  Since this must be done by reimbursement to the schools through the Department of Education, students must take the exams in May, after which schools can submit the invoice for reimbursement. Links follow for the free/reduced lunch submission form for IB coordinators to complete and send to the Indiana Department of Education by December 12, 2008 and the 2008 sample invoice for reimbursements.  Reimbursements for 2008 have already been made and the invoice for 2009 will need to be completed and submitted after students have completed examinations in May 2009.
