Accreditation is a quality assurance process that confirms that an Indiana school is meeting minimum standards in student performance, legal standards, and school improvement planning. The Indiana State Board of Education accredits Indiana schools that meet accreditation requirements and requires that all Indiana public schools be accredited. Nonpublic schools may seek accreditation. A charter or freeway school shall be accredited when specific terms and requirements are met. All accredited schools retain their current accreditation status until the transition to the amended accreditation system is complete.
