REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS TO PUBLIC RECORDS MAINTAINED BY THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

 

1. The Indiana Department of Education does not require a person seeking access to public records maintained by the Indiana Department of Education to complete a specified form. However, the Indiana Department of Education does require that, as a condition precedent to access to such records, the person so requesting put such request in writing, describing with particularity the public records to which access is sought. The written request must be signed. The Indiana Department of Education does not accept such requests by electronic mail (e-mail). I.C. 5-14-3-3(a).
2. The Indiana Department of Education will charge $.10 a page for photocopying standard-sized sheets of paper. I.C. 5-14-3-8(c).

3. The Indiana Department of Education may require that payment for copying costs be made in advance of releasing photocopied documents to the person so requesting. I.C. 5-14-3-8(e).
