 1992 IPSB formed
 1994 IPSB decision to move to performance-based system and adoption of INTASC principles as basis for Indiana standards
 1997
IPSB approves assessment framework for new system (June) 
 
Pilots established in five school districts (September) to develop recommendations by June 1998 for new continuing education/relicensure system 
 1999 Pilots established in ten districts (September) to test/refine recommendations for new continuing education/relicensure system
 2000
New induction and licensing rules promulgated (includes rules for initial, proficient, and accomplished practitioner licenses)
Rules for accomplished practitioner license resulting from National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification effective immediately upon Governor's signature 
 2001 Last year to professionalize license under Rules 46/47 (current system)
 2002 Professional growth teams (PGTs) established in all districts

All teachers needing to renew five-year licenses by 2007 develop professional growth plans for PGT review

 2006 Last year for 5-year license renewal under Rules 46/47 (current system)
 2007 District professional growth teams begin portfolio review for five- and ten-year license renewal purposes under new system
 2011 All teachers needing to renew ten-year licenses earned under Rules 46/47 (former system) develop professional growth plans for PGT review
