 1994 IPSB decision to move to performance-based system and adoption of INTASC principles as basis for Indiana standards
 1997 IPSB approves new assessment system framework (June)

Teacher preparation institutions submit plans for incorporating INTASC principles into their teacher preparation curricula and plans to plan their unit assessment systems (October)

 1998 New teacher education rule promulgated

Teacher preparation institutions submit progress reports on incorporating INTASC principles into their teacher preparation curricula; plans for incorporating Indiana content and developmental standards into their curricula; and progress reports on developing unit assessment systems (October)

Teacher preparation institutions submit progress reports on curriculum work and development of unit assessment systems (October)
Teacher preparation unit assessment systems may be submitted for Board approval initial Board approval is conditional pending evidence of success of teacher education graduates (New licensure framework may apply as of fall 2000) 
 2000 Teacher preparation institutions submit progress reports on curriculum work and development of unit assessment systems (October)
 2001 Teacher preparation institutions submit progress reports on curriculum work and development of unit assessment systems (October)
 2002 Teacher preparation institutions submit progress reports on curriculum work and development of unit assessment systems (October)

All teacher preparation unit assessment systems must be submitted by June 30, 2002. (New licensure framework must apply as of fall 2002)
