The Teacher Induction Committee (TIC) of the Indiana Professional Standards Board (IPSB) was convened on April 29, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room D of the Indiana Government Center South by Steve Yager, Chair.

 I. Consultations with representatives of education stakeholders groups: There were none at this time. 
 II. Materials reviewed as related to the TIC's charge:
 A. Concepts of new language for rules and statutes and proposed draft statutory changes 
 B. The TIC report to the Assessment Coordinating Committee 
 III. Issues/Questions examined as related to the TIC's charge: 
 A. The Committee approved the minutes of the April 14, 1999, meeting. 
 B. The Committee received a status report of the induction contract renewal with Region 8 Education Service Center (ESC) and the Request for Proposals process for subcontractors; reviewed the revisions to the draft rules concepts and statutes for the induction program; established the time line for a broader dissemination of the draft standards and program training guidelines for mentors; and scheduled a meeting to assess the third quarter of the induction contract services, receive recommendations from the Region 8 ESC for regional subcontractors, and review the report from the external evaluators regarding the services rendered as of May 3, 1999, through the induction contract with Region 8 ESC.
