Members unable to attend: Shelly Furuness.

The Teacher Induction Committee (TIC) of the Indiana Professional Standards Board (IPSB) was convened on September 22, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. in the Curriculum Room of the Administration Center of Washington Township Schools by Steve Yager, Chair.
I. Consultations with representatives of education stakeholders groups: None.
II. Materials reviewed as related to the TIC's charge:
A. Draft Standards for Mentors; Draft Guidelines for Mentor Training Programs; and Questionnaire
- Newly Proposed Draft of the Induction Statutes and Rules
- Region 8 Education Service Center August and September Monthly Reports
- Local Advisory Group Charge and Composition
III. Issues/Questions examined as related to the TIC's charge:
- The Committee approved the minutes of the June 15, 1999, meeting.
- The Committee was led through a review of the newly proposed draft of the induction statute and rules by Tom Hansen. TIC members offered suggestions for minor revisions. Members were given the task of further reviewing the document to respond to the IPSB staff with suggestions or questions by the middle of October. Tom Hansen will provide a revised version of the draft for further review and comment of the Committee in its November meeting.
- The Committee requested that the reports of the Region 8 ESC be aligned to the instrument being used to assess the induction contract to make the process more efficient for the Committee.
