CEC members present on November 30, 1999: Diane Airhart, Judy Briganti, Sheliah Dorton, Irene Eskridge, Richard Frisbie, Nancy Geyer, Daniel Hartz, Linda Hus, Phyllis Largey, and Ena Shelley.

CEC members unable to attend: None.

Others in attendance: Tom Hansen and Joe Weaver.

The Continuing Education Committee (CEC) of the Indiana Professional Standards Board (IPSB) was convened on November 30, 1999, at 9:00 a.m. in Training Center Room 6 of the Indiana Government Center - South, by Ms. Briganti, Chair.

II. Issues/Questions examined as related to the CEC=s charge:

A. Because this was the first meeting for the current membership of the CEC, the committee members introduced themselves and shared Awhat they bring to the table,@ Agroup norm expectations,@ and Aas they see it now@ in relation to the committee=s charge.

B. Tom Hansen, IPSB Director of Legal and External Affairs, gave the committee an update on the redesign and the development new continuing education rules.

C. Richard Frisbie reviewed the recommendations of previous continuing education work groups and committees, the current committee=s charge, and the draft Model and Conceptual Framework.

D. The committee established a meeting schedule and agreed to continue these basic background discussions at its next meeting. All meetings will be held at the Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) Executive Committee Room on the 9th floor from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The address is 150 West Market Street, Suite 900, Indianapolis, IN 46204. The phone number is 800-382-4037. The 2000 meeting dates are January 26, February 25, March is open, April 14, May 19, and June 16.

The meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m. The next CEC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, at the Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) Executive Committee Room on the 9th floor from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The address is 150 West Market Street, Suite 900, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
