Subject: Manchester College - Continuing Accreditation at the Initial Level
During March 13 - 17, 1999, a joint National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)/Indiana Board of Examiners (BOE) team visited Manchester College. The purpose of this visit was to determine the extent to which the professional education unit continued to meet NCATE/state standards at the initial level. A copy of the report was sent to Dr. JoAnn Schall, Director of Teacher Education.
On November 18, 1999, the Teacher Education Committee of the Indiana Professional Standards Board (IPSB) met to review the BOE report and the NCATE Accreditation Action Report. A recommendation for continuing accreditation at the initial level is being submitted to the IPSB for consideration. A copy of the NCATE Accreditation Action Report is enclosed.
TEC Recommendation:
The TEC recommends that the IPSB grant continuing accreditation at the initial level to the professional education unit at Manchester College. The next onsite review will take place in spring 2004.
