B. Discussion of Backmapping Pilot and Next Steps.

The committee discussed the general activities and supporting considerations for the teacher license renewal backmapping pilot. A summary of the basic design, main activities and a calendar of the regional events follows:

    1. Design.

    a. Experienced teachers will be asked to use the draft forms to work through how they would have developed a Professional Growth Plan and related reports, based on their experiences over the previous three to five years.

    b. Participants will be offered a $50 honorarium and a license renewal waiver.

    c. Paid trainers will provide regionally based orientation and support.

    d. Participants must submit completed documents to qualify for the honorarium and license renewal waiver.

    e. Statewide representation will be established by seeking participation by two participants per school corporation. If more than two applications are received from teachers who work at the same corporation, participants will be randomly selected.
