A core group from the IASP External Standing Committee met to prepare an agenda for the next committee meeting. John Baker prepared the agenda for the October 6th meeting. Three issues were discussed:
I. Expanded charge for the External Standing Committee.
The core group recommends that IASP submit a proposal to the IPSB requesting that the committee’s work be expanded to include school psychology licensing, as well as the independent practice endorsement.
II. Renewal of Independent Practice Endorsement.
The core group recommends that the dates of renewal for an independent practice endorsement and the school psychology license be made the same date. Currently, their dates of expiration are different, and there are processing difficulty in their renewals.
III. Removal of the SSN from the license.
The core group recommends that the social security numbers be removed from all school psychology licenses.
The entire External Standing Committee will meet within 30 days to discuss these agenda items, plus additional Old Business. Kathryn Snyder will poll members for an agreeable date. John Baker will arrange for Tom Hansen to make a presentation to the committee. Dick Therrien will seek a replacement on the committee for the teacher representative.
