A total of 1,371 individuals received a limited license during the 1999-2000 school year. This year, a deadline of April 15 was established for all limited license applications; therefore, this is a complete number for the year. Of these, 827 were original limits and 544 were renewals. The table below lists the number of limits by preparation level.

During the 1998-1999 school year, a total of 1,256 limited licenses was issued. This year, there was a total of 115 more for an increase of 9.1%. In 1999-2000, of the 1,371 individuals teaching on a limited license 957 (69.8%) held some type of instructional license other than a limited license. In 1998-1999, a total of 810 of 1,256 (64.5%) held some type of instructional license other than a limited license.
