1 Q When is the training?
A The annual training will be held each year in Indianapolis the first full week of June.
 
2 Q How long does the training take?
A A minimum of at least three (3) training sessions to become proficient
 
3 Q What does it cost?
A The training is at no cost to the participant

I can't afford to drive everyday to Indianapolis for training.

A Division of Professional Standards will reimburse mileage to every individual who participates in the training sessions. If you live over 50 miles one way, the Division of Professional Standards will provide overnight accommodations at a local hotel and provide you with a per-diem for breakfast and dinner. The Division of Professional Standards provides lunch for everyone.
 
5 Q Will I be allowed to score any portfolio?

6 Q Will I be allowed to participate if my license has expired?
A No, you must hold a valid Indiana license
 
7 Q I am a retired teacher, may I participate in the training?
A Yes, as long as your Indiana license is valid

Will I get paid for the training?

A No, you will only be reimbursed for mileage and/or overnight accommodations if you live more than 50 miles. Once you are trained and the trainers have deemed you proficient, you will be invited to score portfolios in your content area and the state will pay a stipend per portfolio scored.
 
9 Q What is the stipend for scoring a portfolio?
A The amount paid for scoring a portfolio is a legislative action subject to change with State budget, To inquire about the current rate contact the Division of Professional Standards at IMAP@idoe.state.in.us

I am interested how do I apply?

A You may obtain an application from the approved mentor programs, mentor faculty trainers, or the Division of Professional Standards web page under forms and documents. Forms and Documents
