The rules for the emergency permit for administrators has
been approved. School districts may begin applying for emergency permits
for administrators on July 1, 2004. Please review Rule 9 on our web site
for the specific requirements of each permit.
The School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) will
go into effect on February 1, 2003. Any application for an original
administration and supervision license postmarked after January 31,
2002, will be required to complete this exam. For information about
the exam, contact a licensing advisor at the institution that offers
the program or contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) for a
