Educators attend conferences, workshops, participate in curriculum development committees, participate in school improvement plans, take coursework to stay up-to-date on the latest educational reforms and many other activities in addition to their classroom responsibilities. The Professional Growth Plan is an opportunity for teachers, administrators and school service personnel to control their own professional development and use these experiences towards licensing renewal.
Educators who hold a renewable Bulletin 400 and Rules 46-47 licenses issued by the Office of Educator Licensing and Development may use the Professional Growth Plan to renew those licenses. Individuals who hold a Rules 2002 Proficient Practitioner license must use the Professional Growth Plan to renew that license.
The Professional Growth Plan should be completed using the appropriate document (see option below). Your Professional Growth Plan will be evaluated by the Office of Educator Licensing & Development. Once it is approved, a certificate will be sent to you that you will include with your renewal application. Please allow plenty of time for your PGP to be evaluated prior to filling out your application materials.
