The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) initiative, launched by Superintendent Ritz in January 2015, works collaboratively with schools, communities and families towards the common goal of providing an education of the highest quality to all Hoosier students. FACE encourages both family and community to take active and engaged roles in a child’s day-to-day schoolwork and developmental activities. Additional resources to support the academic, emotional, physical, and social development of Indiana’s students can be found below.

The FACE initiative serves all Indiana schools, including Focus and Priority Schools, by supporting and helping to expand their family and community engagement initiatives. In addition to identifying and designating applicable schools as “Family Friendly,” the Office of Family and Community Engagement creates and shares a statewide framework for Family and Community Engagement.
