Beth Wilhelm, Family and Consumer Sciences, Plainfield
High School
I did this project last year in my Family
and Consumer Sciences Advanced Fashion and Textiles classes.
I took the students to a Goodwill store. They had to
make two items: one to wear and one to use. But the fun
thing was, they had to pick something that was a clothing
item and make it into a useable item and vice versa.
One student turned a shirt into a waterproof tote bag
with lining. It was very cute.
