School
I haven't been able to do a lot of “green” things
yet at work, but my wife and I have done a lot at home.
When we lived in an apartment, the two of us usually had
two to three bags of trash a week. Now, we run an
in-home daycare and have a boarder and have about one bag
of trash. The rest we take to the recycling center. We
also use environmentally-safe kitty litter for our four
cats. It works better than any clay or other litter type. It
is made out of corn. We’ve also tried purchasing
a lot of our food from local sources or organic markets. We
are actually going on a year-long experiment of purchasing
no new goods. We are trying to get everything second-hand
or doing without. It has been a great adventure.
