Registration

After registering with the Learning Connection, users may access their accounts and resources within the account at any time. Logging in is the same type of action as signing in to other online accounts.

The login process requires two pieces of information: the username and its password, both of which are created by the user during the registration process. If a Registration codes was used to create the account, it will not be used to login to the application. A registration code is only used one time-- to register for an account, not to login to it.

The username is used only for logging into the account and is not visible to other educators within the system. However, usernames may also be used as part of the URL to display a person's public web page.

Usernames must be a minimum of six characters in length and are case sensitive. Click the "Forgot your Username" link on the homepage if you need help.

Passwords must be a minimum of six characters in length and must be a combination of letters and numbers. They are also case sensitive. Click the "Forgot Your Password" link on the homepage if you need a new password or do not remember your current one.

Forgot Username and Password

If you forgot your username, click the "Forgot Your Username?" link on the homepage. Enter the email address that you have registered within the Learning Connection. For most persons, this is your school email address. If the email address is found on an active account within the system, your username will be emailed to you.

If you forgot your password, click the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the homepage. Enter the username that you have registered with for the Learning Connection. Please keep in mind that usernames are unique, so if your last name is Smith, your username may not be msmith, as it may already belong to someone else. If you don't remember your username, please see the section, "Forgot Username". When you enter the username, you will be prompted to answer the security questions that you chose during registration. You must answer two of the three security questions correctly before the system will email a new temporary password to you. Follow the instructions within the email received to reset your password.

Account Locked Out

After 5 un-successful attempts at logging into the Learning Connection with the wrong username/password, the system will "Lock" your account and you will not be able to login. If this occurs, you have two options:

  1. Wait 15 minutes and try your username/password combination again
  2. Complete the Forgot Username/Forgot Password functionality to access your account.
  3. If your account is still locked, it may have been locked by an administrator of the system. Please contact support.

System Time-Out

If you are logged in, but inactive within the system for a period of 45 minutes, the Learning Connection will log you out of the system (the system has timed out). This action is done to protect the security of you and your student's data. You might experience an "Unexpected Error" when the system has timed out. When attempting to click to another area of the Learning Connection, you will be directed to the login screen. Login again if you wish to return to your account.

Security Questions

When you first registered, you were asked to select three security questions and type the answers to them. These are used to access your account if you forgot your username/password combination. To access your security questions and the answers to them, login to your account, go to the Profile tab, click on the Settings tab, and then click "Edit" next to user information. You can change/update these questions in this location. Click "Save" to save your changes.
