Duties

Employee works in the Center for Information Systems of the Department of Education under the guidance of Assistant Director of Data Collection & Reporting Center for Information Systems Director, or higher-level staff.

Representative Duties Include:

Provide support for education data reporting (STN / Application Center);
Develops or modifies moderately complex data collection requirements in the form of specifications used by field staff and/or systems development;
Facilitates the delivery of technical business solutions and products to customers;
Manages the expectations of customers, peers, vendors, and management solutions;
May train, guide and advise other Reporting Specialists and Help Desk Specialist;
Perform quality assurance audits on various data collections;
Work with field staff on issues regarding timely and accurate data reporting;
Performs related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Advanced knowledge of the organization’s business systems and industry requirements;
Advanced knowledge of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment;
Basic knowledge of project management theories and practices and the ability to apply that knowledge;
Ability to lead, encourage and influence others to perform;
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Ability to manage diverse human resources.
