Those affected by Hurrican Katrina in Indiana may include:
- 1st wave evacuees who left before the hurricane
to stay with Indiana relatives/ friends
- 2nd wave evacuees who were rescued from the hurricane
and came to Indiana
- Indiana families seeking information about family/friends caught
in the hurricane
- Children left behind in Indiana by family members who have
been called up to assist in recovery efforts
- Indiana families who have been affected by the financial impact
of the hurricane
- Children who have observed the graphic images on the media
of hurricane victims
School student service personnel have a unique opportunity
to mitigate the effects of this disaster by timely and appropriate
intervention for victims, and/or by initiating service learning
projects for those students wishing to make a contribution to relief

and mental health needs of those in your school community impacted
