Those affected by Hurrican Katrina in Indiana may include:

  • 2nd wave evacuees who were rescued from the hurricane and came to Indiana
  • Indiana families seeking information about family/friends caught in the hurricane
  • Children left behind in Indiana by family members who have been called up to assist in recovery efforts
  • Indiana families who have been affected by the financial impact of the hurricane
  • Children who have observed the graphic images on the media of hurricane victims

School student service personnel have a unique opportunity to mitigate the effects of this disaster by timely and appropriate intervention for victims, and/or by initiating service learning projects for those students wishing to make a contribution to relief efforts. Learn and Serve / Indiana
