Community Choice Prize for Excellence in the Classroom

Congratulations to the December Community Choice winner:

Julie Doan - Second Grade Teacher at Burnett Creek Elementary in Tippecanoe County

"Julie's dedication to the classroom and the children shine, she truly cares for her students. She cultivates a love of education in her classroom through imagination and creativity. She not only is dedicated to the part of the child's life that is school, but also takes an active interest in the whole child. Promoting a classroom space full of not only academia, but life lessons, such as respect all and always show kindness, in natural for her as she exemplifies these qualities.

I have seen my daughter grow this year, her reading level has advanced, she has been doing math more independently, and when she struggles with something, Julie has sent tools home to help us improve concepts." - Kay Parker, parent

Julie won with 53 percent of the vote. Congratulations, Julie!
