Who assigns the special education mediator?

Answer: 

The DOE assigns mediators on a general rotation basis.  This means that when mediation is requested, the DOE contacts the mediator at the top of the rotation list to see if she or he is available.  If that person is not available, the DOE will contact the next person on the list.
