Safe Harbor
Time Allowance: 15-30 Minutes
Equipment Needed: One Blindfold
Steps
1. The leader chooses two students to be the active participants. One will become the leader; and one will be blindfolded and move through the rest of the group, “the rocks.”
2. The remainder of the group takes its position in the pathway of the blindfolded individual. These participants become the rocks that the leader must guide the blindfolded person through. The “rocks” form a “channel” through which the blindfolded participant must be led. The group should not move into its position as “rocks” until the individual has his/her blindfold on.
3. The leader must remember to give concise direction as he/she is directing the blindfolded person through the channel.
4. After the blindfolded student makes his/her way through the “rocks” to the “Safe Harbor” let that student see the channel he/she just went through before the other students or “rocks” move.
