Mapping Education Towards Achievement:
8th Annual Hispanic Post-Secondary Education Workshop

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, the Indiana Department of Education, and Ivy Tech Community College will sponsor our eighth annual workshop geared toward informing Hispanic high school students about post-secondary education. The M.E.T.A.: Mapping Education Towards Achievement workshop will take place on Friday, October 3, 2008 on the IUPUI campus. Schools may arrange to have Hispanic students attend this workshop as a field trip offered by their schools. This event is open to Hispanic high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. All schools in the Indianapolis area are invited to participate, but we will be limited to a total of 300 students.

Through the workshop, META students participate in two career path sessions presented by Hispanic professionals from various fields.  Presenters share information with students about how their high school and college education has contributed to their career success.  META students also have the opportunity to receive information about higher education admissions, financial aid, and scholarships as well as information about immigration law.
