It was a day of celebrating the arts in Indiana
when nearly 300 people attended the 2003 Governor's
Arts Awards luncheon October 23, 2003 at the
Crowne-Plaza Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
It was the 15th awards ceremony since the bi-annual
presentations began in 1973.
The awards, sponsored
jointly by the Indiana
Arts Commission and
the Office of the Governor,
were presented by Governor Joseph E. Kernan
and IAC Chairman Jim Bodenmiller.
Recipients included
world renowned violinist Joshua Bell, Bloomington;
Historic Downtown Rising
Sun Program and the City of Rising Sun; Eric
Rogers and Arts Place, Inc., Portland; Old
National Bancorp, Evansville; Eugene and Marilyn
Glick,
Indianapolis; and late Governor Frank O'Bannon
(posthumously) and former First Lady Judy O'Bannon.
