Visit
the Real Networks web site by clicking the icon found
on all IVIN web pages. Get
ready to start jumping through hoops.
|
 |
2
Click the
link that reads Free RealOne Player. Beware,
this link has a tendency
of jumping around on their page from time to time.
It may not be in the same location every time you access
this page. Are you ready to jump again?
|
 |
3
After
you click the link, the next page will once again have
an ad for the full-priced player. Look around on the page
for the link that reads Download the Free RealOne Player and click.
|
 |
4
After
you click the link, a dialog box will appear asking you
for a place to save the RealOne installer on your computer.
Pick a place (such as "My Downloads" or "My
Documents" (or any place you're going to remember)
and click the Save button.
|
 |
5
This
is what you may see as the RealOne installer is downloading.
Be patient, this may take several minutes.
|
 |
6
Later
that same day...Quit your web browser and go to the
location on your computer where you downloaded the
RealOne Installer. Look for the cute icon found to the
right, and double click.
|
 |
7
Once
the installer starts, you'll see something resembling the
graphic to the right. The RealOne Installer will look on
your computer for older versions of the RealPlayer and
ask you if you want to delete the older versions. You do!
No sense in having multiple versions of outdated software
on your computer. If it asks, click the Yes button.
Be patient, this step may take from one minute to several
years to complete.
|
 |
8
Now
we're rolling. The first screen you'll see asks you for
the type of install you'd like to perform.
Leave everything alone (Express Install) and click the
Next> button.
|
 |
9
Read
and accept the License Agreement by clicking the Accept button.
|
 |
10
Be
patient as the program configures and installs the RealOne
player for your computer.
|
 |
11
The
Installer will ask you what types of media you'd like the
RealOne player to play. Unless you are familiar with
different types of media, and the variety of programs that
can be used to play them, leave these settings alone. Click the Finish button.
|
 |
12
You'll
see a "splash" screen
as the Installer does more configuring and then the Welcome
to RealPlayer! screen. Read and then click the
Next> button. |
 |
13
The
RealOne Player will now contact RealNetworks to continue
the setup. Just like is says on the screen. |
 |
14
The
RealOne player will now attempt to garner some demographic
data and allow you to set up a user account with Realnetworks.
This step is not necessary and these directions will not
show you how to complete this screen. Simply click the Cancel button
and you'll be on your way. By clicking the Cancel button,
the RealPlayer will skip this step and continue with the
Horse and Pony show. |
 |
15
Hang
in there...we're almost done. Next you'll be presented with
this beautiful screen playing a "welcome" audio
clip and some fast-moving, fancy graphics. Feel free to click the
stop button. |
 |
16
