What
is RealPlayer?
The Indiana Department of Education is offering special events
and featured state-wide occasions in an audio and video format over
the Internet. The technology is appropriately called streaming audio
or streaming video and the platform is known as RealVideo.
RealVideo
operates by taking a video or audio signal from any source and compressing
it for delivery over the Internet. If you have the RealPlayer software
installed on your computer, you can access these Internet-ready video
files to view on your desktop computer. Since the Internet can deliver
information to practically any location in the World, it is as easy
to sit in an Indiana classroom watching the most recent State School
Board meeting or be in Kakuda, Japan experiencing videos of spring-time
in our fine state.
