PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES AND AWARDS:

Richard Anderson, principal of East Noble High School in Kendallville, believes that "in addition to providing a knowledge base, it is vitally important that educators give their students a positive self-concept." To this end, Mr. Anderson has implemented a number of academic and support programs at East Noble High School. The school boasts an Academic Wall of Fame, as well as an Athletic Wall of Fame. Perfect attendance, academic excellence and other scholarly distinctions are rewarded and recognized by the school community. Mr. Anderson has also instituted a "school-wide daily reading program" wherein twenty minutes are set aside every day and by everyone at the school for leisure reading. A special program that targets at-risk students has yielded a 70% graduation rate. ENHS has been a leader in school reform and currently operates on a Concentrated Block Four Schedule. There is also a career orientation program in place for sophomores, and a teaching program to encourage students to become educators. This partial account of the many advances and reforms that have taken place at East Noble High School speaks clearly of Mr. Anderson's dedication and leadership.
