STATE Network Plan
2000-2001
developed March 3, 2001

Step One: Brainstorm

  • Increase technology integration (2)
  • Reduce technology stress
  • I would like to see Milken Educators work with teachers at my science camp.
  • Refine our "new teacher camp"
  • Best practices: to help facilitate the development of a format for sharing "best practices": on IMEN website?
  • Promote quality education through professional development services: availability as speakers? Consultants? Eventually, the summer "camp"?
  • I would like for the IMEN website to become a clearinghouse of information and examples of best practices used by Indiana educators (i.e., lesson plans, virtual tours, PowerPoint presentations)
  • Increase opportunities for new teachers to have teaching strategies
  • Be a force in "new" teacher recruitment in Indiana
  • Recruit quality teachers
  • Increase quality of teacher education experiences and teacher prep programs
  • I would like to retain quality teachers in Indiana
  • I would like to encourage and recruit young people into the profession of teaching (and education work)
  • Improve teaching quality in Indiana
  • Share best practices. Create an environment that shares our best practices. Create a questionnaire/database of our "expertise" then share (?)
  • Promote visitations, speak, invite
  • Invite them in, identify other teachers with best practices, continue to host
