An Overview of the Child and Adult Care Food Program

 The Application Process At-A-Glance

Step 1

New sponsor training

Step 2

Complete initial documents (provided once step 1 is completed)

Step 3

Initial visit with a CACFP field consultant

Step 4

Complete online application and submit final documents

Step 5

Serve menus and keep records for one month, as a program trial. You will not yet be approved for the program.

Step 6

A CACFP field consultant will conduct a performance evaluation of the trial month and determine if the organization may be approved for program participation.

 

 New Sponsor Training

Participation through a Sponsoring Organization

Family day care home providers may only participate in CACFP through an agreement with a sponsoring organization. All other child care facilities may participate directly with the Indiana Department of Education or through a sponsoring organization.
