The Indiana Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education, Business, Marketing, and Information Technology, provides a number of professional development opportunities for Business and Marketing Educators along with a number of national conferences. The following is a list of 2008-2009 professional development opportunities for Business, Marketing, and Information Technology, CTE Business and Information Technology, and CTE Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship instructors:

Tech Camp 2008. The highly successful Tech Camp for Teachers will hold its 8th annual event on the IUPUI Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Tech Camp offers teachers a chance to learn techniques in teaching the latest software and computer programming, as well as opportunities to discuss curriculum, assignments, teaching strategies, and level objectives. Tech Camp attendees get to meet with college professors and authors, to discuss collaborative projects, articulated credit, and college expectations. This is a hands-on workshop. ESI: Entrepreneurship Investigation Workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to provide Middle School Teachers with an understanding of how to use the ESI: Entrepreneurship Investigation materials in your classroom. Trainers from the Indiana Council for Economic Education will cover strategies for implementing ESI as well as the economic and entrepreneurship concepts that students will learn and ultimately use. Business and Marketing teachers will have an opportunity to develop projects such as In Baskets, Minibaskets, Learning Activities Projects (LAPS), and Internet Projects for use in various business and marketing classes. ICE Cooperative Education Coordinators. Workshop will be held at Turkey Run State Park. If you are a cooperative education teacher in any discipline, you will want to attend this workshop to network with other co-op coordinators. You will receive materials that other coordinators will share, hear federal and state update and labor laws, and have many more opportunities to hear special speakers and get new ideas.
