2008 Super Mileage Challenge Announcement

Indiana High School students are challenged to engineer solutions for our nations energy needs in the 2008 Super Mileage Challenge (SMC) today! The SMC is scheduled for April 28, 2008 at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis.  In the SMC High School students apply Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to design, engineer, construct, test and evaluate vehicles that obtain the highest MPG.

An Overview of the project, the Letter of Intention to Participate and the 2008 Rules are attached as PDF files. We request your assistance in sharing this information and forms with the appropriate teachers and students in your corporation. NOTE: Please carefully review technical changes to 2007-2008 Rules here.

2008 IMSTEA SMC Video Contest

2008 IMSTEA SMC VIDEO CONTEST - THEME: "Advancing Excellence in Mathematics, Science, Technology & Engineering Education" - Indiana High School students are invited to interpret how the SMC promotes the "integration and advancement" of academic learning in Mathematics, Science, Technology and Engineering through the SMC. Entrants must be a student enrolled in an Indiana High School. Note: entries in this contest are open to students/schools who do not currently have a Super Mileage Challenge vehicle program.  Entries will be judged on overall impact, effectiveness of conveying the theme, artistic merit and technical proficiency. PRIZES: Winning school/student entries will receive recognition with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards as selected by a IMSTEA blue ribbon jury. The judges’ decisions will be final.
