Eight Steps to Highly Effective Next Generation Professional Development for Learning and Technology

Build a Master Plan
for Professional Development

As change in society accelerates to meet the conditions of life in the Digital Age, educators must embrace changes in learning and technology. Use Steps One through Five to help you shift your perspective on professional development. Learning must be continuous and daily -- a dramatic shift from today's typical pull-out professional development that takes place only a few times a year.

Guiding Questions

  • How are you weaving 'next generation' professional development into your school improvement plan and your existing staff development program?
  • How will you monitor and adjust the implementation of your 'next generation' professional development program?
