Underlying principles of the participating partner agencies and the Indiana Department of Education that support vision include:
STATE LEVEL
State technology policy and expenditures must contribute to the state's economy and the public welfare of Indiana residents.
Government agencies and other state and regional groups and partners must coordinate programs and continually explore collaborations for the benefit of the Indiana community.
Agencies should encourage their application developers, client groups, and users to take full advantage of the technology services available, particularly through the use of the Access Indiana Statewide Backbone (AISB), to maximize available resources and enrich the communities.
LOCAL LEVEL
Policy and planning should be student centered and learning process centered and should focus upon promoting educational achievement, personal growth, and community involvement for lifelong learners in engaging and resource and technology-rich learning environments.
All efforts should involve parents, school boards, and other school community partners and should include coordination of available resources at building, district, and regional levels.
Schools and communities should take full advantage of the range of technology services and resources available from local, regional, state, and national sources for teaching and learning, training, communications, administrative reports, technical support, parental involvement, and assessment.
