Technology Leadership Training for Technology Coordinators

The Indiana DOE's Office of Learning Resources sponsors a five-day Technology Coordinator Leadership Training program designed for district-wide technology coordinators. The purpose is to assist them in developing leadership and technology skills for more effective management and integration of technology in schools. The program for up to forty coordinators a year is held at the Center for Excellence in Education at Indiana University in Bloomington.

The increased amount of technology in schools, and expectations for more effective use, have placed increasingly greater demands on the technology coordinator. Based on requests from coordinators around the state, the Office of Learning Resources created and first offered the five-day program during the 1997-98 school year. The program addresses: staff and time management skills technology trends staff development for effective technology use funding and other resources technical skills training research and assessment public relations

The Indiana DOE provides a $1000 grant to each participant's school district to cover the $800 workshop fee and other expenses, and the opportunity to earn university credit (3 hours) or CRUs (24) is offered.
