The P. Buckley Moss Foundation and Moss Society give annual awards to recognize outstanding teachers who consistently integrate the arts into their teaching of children with learning disabilities and other special needs. The awards also encourage and reward instructional collaboration among teachers whenever arts are included in the classroom learning experience as an essential ingredient in the education of all children.

U.S. Education Department's INet: -- The department's online library provides a wealth of information for educators and grant seekers. The online service contains ED publications, including teacher and researcher guides to ED programs. Grant seekers can access reports, legislation, press releases and a department staff locator.
James Madison Graduate Fellowships -- The James Madison Fellowship Foundation, established by Congress for the purpose of improving teaching about the United States Constitution in secondary schools, offers two types of fellowships:
  • Junior Fellowships are awarded to students who are about to complete, or have recently completed, their undergraduate course of study and plan to begin graduate work on a full-time basis. Junior Fellows have two years to complete their degrees.
  • Senior Fellowships are awarded to experienced teachers who wish to undertake work for a graduate degree on a part-time basis through summer and evening classes. Senior Fellows have up to five years to complete their degree.

RFP Bulletin -- Arts/Humanities --The RFP (Request for Proposals) Bulletin is published weekly in conjunction with the posting of Philanthropy News Digest to the Web. Each RFP listing provides a brief overview of a current funding opportunity offered by a foundation or other grant making organization. Interested applicants should read the full RFP at the grant maker's Web site or contact the grant maker directly for complete program guidelines and eligibility requirements before submitting a proposal to that grant maker.
Wal-Mart Gives $10.9 million to Boost Education --The retail giant's foundation is supporting a wide variety of teacher awards, grants, and student scholarships.
Wireless Foundation,The -- Through ClassLink, Nokia and CTIA wireless carriers donate wireless phones and airtime to schools in order to accelerate learning and prepare our children's classrooms for the 21st century. Schools are selected to receive phones through an application process, which is reviewed by a panel of independent judges representing the wireless industry and academic institutions.
