HASBRO Teens With The Courage To Give Award

HASBRO Teens With The Courage To Give Award in partnership with Youth Service America, is for young people who have faced physical and/or emotional obstacles, reached out to make a difference to others, and ultimately helped themselves as a consequence.

The Caesars Foundation of Floyd County

Geographic Areas: Floyd County and New Albany, Indiana.
Scope: The Caesars Foundation of Floyd County makes grants to improve the community in which Caesars Indiana operates a riverboat casino. Areas of interest are: education, community development, human services, cultural affairs, and health & medical. For applications from schools, the foundation notes that it keeps tax-exempt documentation on file for the New Albany Floyd County School Corporation, but documentation of support from the school or the school system (such as a letter from the superintendent) is required.
Deadline: There are two grant cycles annually, The next upcoming deadline is Sept. 30. Emergency grant applications may be considered outside the grant cycle in compelling circumstances.
Funds: Generally, grants will not exceed $25,000 each. There is a simple application for grant requests up to $5,000; and a more detailed application for requests between $5,000 and $25,000.
Recent grants: The foundation recently made a $135,000 grant to help a New Albany, Ind., Montessori charter school with furnishings and other materials for its new building.

The 2007 Best Buy Scholarship Program will award scholarships to students based on their outstanding commitment to and involvement in community service, along with a solid academic performance. Maximum Award: $10,000. Eligibility: high school seniors currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. school, graduating with plans to enter a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocation technical school in the U.S. no later than fall 2007. Deadline: February 15, 2007.
