The Disney Minnie Grants 2007, 2nd round (FOR US AND OVERSEAS APPLICANTS)
The Walt Disney Company and Youth Service America are pleased to announce grants of up to $500 to support youth-led service projects. These grants support youth (ages 5-14) in planning and implementing service projects in their community. Teacher s, older youth (15-25), youth-leaders, and youth-serving organizations are also eligible to apply, provided that they that engage younger youth (5-14) in planning and implementing the service.
Service projects must take place between October 1 and November 26, 2007. Projects can address themes such as the environment, disaster relief, public health and awareness, community education, hunger, literacy, or any issue that youth identify as a community need. Applications are welcome from all countries, though applications will only be accepted in English. Applicants from China, India, and Russia are especially encouraged to apply. Past Disney Minnie Grantees are also eligible to apply.

YSA Youth Venture Program Micro-grants (FOR US YOUTH APPLICANTS ONLY)
Socially conscious people between the ages of 12 and 20-years-old are encouraged to apply for micro-grants of up to $1,000 from the YSA Youth Venture Program to create sustainable social ventures. Led by an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, the YSA Youth Venture Program’s mission is to provide funding and resources to young people to lead socially conscious campaigns that are a lasting asset to their communities. YSA Youth Venture teams are required to plan a Global Youth Service Day project on April 25-27, 2008, and will receive resource s from Youth Service America and Youth Venture,the leading organizations in the youth service movement.

Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale (FOR US APPLICANTS ONLY)

The Great American Bake Sale grants program supports efforts to increase participation among low-income children in summer and after school meal programs. Share Our Strength is specifically interested in increasing participation in meal programs th at utilize USDA-reimbursement through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), or Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Nonprofit organizations that work to increase the number of children that receive nutritious after school and summer meals may be eligible to apply for funds raised through the Great American Bake Sale. Grants range from $5,000 to $15,000.

Challenge 20/20 by National Association of Independent Schools (US AND OVERSEAS SCHOOLS ARE ELIGIBLE)

This program pairs schools in the United States with schools in other countries. Each two-school or three-school team tackles one of 20 global problems described in Jean-Francois Rischard’s book High Noon: Twenty Global Problems, Twenty Years to Solve Them. The program provides an opportunity for schools to develop globally based, experiential curricula and to build educational partnerships with schools around the world. All elementary and secondary schools, public or private, located anywhere in the world are welcome to apply to participate. This program has no cost andis an Internet-based international education program. Although NAIS will make every effort, we cannot guarantee we will be able to partner every school.

STATE FARM GOOD NEIGHBOR SERVICE-LEARNING GRANTS
Grants to support youth-led service-learning projects for Global Youth Service Day, April 25-27, 2008 will be available in July/August. These grants of $1,000 are designed for youth, teachers and school-based service-learning providers to address important issues that youth care about.
