RE: Foreign Exchange Students and Sponsors

In 1979, the Commission on General Education of the Indiana State Board of Education gave indefinite approval for federally designated foreign exchange programs for such time as they remain in good standing with the U.S. Department of State. This allows students with J-1 visas to attend Indiana schools without providing transfer tuition. Attached are some documents addressing issues dealing with high school foreign exchange students. All of this information is also available online at www.doe.in.gov/opd/studentexchange/stu_exch.html.
