What's a Feed?
A feed is simply a file containing summaries
of stories and news. Using a news reader you can get a quick
glimpse of stories published by the Indiana Department of
Education. Stories are often updated throughout the week.
The news reader can notify you when a new story appears on
the Web site, so you don't have to keep checking the site
for new stories.
How do I Read an RSS Feed?
To read an RSS Feed you'll need news reader
software like NetNewsWire from Ranchero Software or Shrook
2 by Graham Parks. Once you launch a news reader, you can
copy the address for the RSS feed listed below -- for example,
in Safari, just ctrl-click the link and select the "Copy
Link to Clipboard" option from the contextual menu that
appears. You'll need to paste this URL into the news reader
program, when you create a new news feed connection. Some
news readers, like NetNewsWire, lets you just drag a link,
like the one below, directly into the program to add the
news feed.
