 elcome to my home on the
World Wide Web. This site contains a variety of useful and interesting
information, including a short description of the duties of
the office of State Superintendent and some biographical information.
If
you are new to our Department of Education Web site, start here
for links to our Department’s Divisions
and Services; Staff
Directory; Indiana
school data; recent
K-12 education news;
upcoming events;
and other frequently requested information.
We will be making changes
to this site in the months ahead, so you can find what you are
looking for even easier and faster. In the meantime, spend some
time perusing our current site. You will find information about
Indiana's
Teacher of the Year,
online
publications,
our Department’s Legislative
Agenda,
special projects such as the Indiana
Video Information Network,
and more.
In each of my last three terms as Superintendent
of Public Instruction, I visited
schools in all of Indiana’s 92 counties.
Upon entering my fourth term of office, I pledged to continue this
tradition. These visits keep me in touch with local communities
and focused on how we can best meet the needs of all of Indiana’s
schools. It is through this kind of communication that we can be
responsive, remain up-to-date on issues, and share ideas around
the state.
I hope you find this web site to be helpful and informative.
Though our work is far from done, I think you will agree that Indiana’s
education system has a solid foundation in place. |
