Re: Approval of new features
Date: April 25, 2002
The
following features have recently been approved:
-
Power actuated service doors may use a three position door control
switch to operate the red warning lamp system and stop arm signal.
This
feature will allow independent operation of the service door with
the red warning lamps and stop signal arm.
- Step
treads in the service door entrance may be heated.
- Interlock
system for powerlift controls may be used.
The
controls may be interlocked with the vehicle brakes, transmissions
or door, or they may provide other appropriate mechanisms or systems
to ensure the vehicle cannot be moved when the lift is not stowed
and so the lift cannot be deployed unless the interlocks or systems
are engaged. (National School Transportation Specification and
Procedures 2000)
