Dear Mr. Baxter:

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is launching a national outreach initiative (see enclosures) to help ensure the safety of students traveling to and from events held away from school. The primary objective of this initiative is to promote the adoption of best safety practices in selecting private bus companies for student transportation to and from school events, field trips, and other activities that require travel by bus.

I want to invite you to attend the kickoff event for this safety campaign. The agency appreciates your involvement in previous outreach efforts, and I believe your attendance will add a great deal to the significance of the kickoff for the present initiative.

The program will be held outdoors on December 4 at West Potomac High School, 6500 Quander Road, Alexandria, Virginia 22307, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
