We are happy to announce that the CDC National STD Hotline and National AIDS Hotline have combined staff, resources and information to become the CDC National STD and AIDS Hotline. These hotlines operate toll free 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing callers with anonymous, confidential, and reliable answers to their questions about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDS. The hotlines also provide referrals and free printed materials to callers with STD and HIV/AIDS-related questions.
Some of the highlights and benefits of this integration include:
Information is the first line of defense in preventing STD and HIV infection. Unfortunately, there is still a great deal of stigma attached to discussions of these issues. The CDC National STD and AIDS Hotlines can help by offering reliable information in a friendly, non-threatening, non-judgmental atmosphere.
The hotline is operated under contract by the American Social Health Association (ASHA), a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the prevention and control of STDs. For answers to your STD/AIDS related questions, referrals to local test sites, treatment centers, or other services, please call:
