Overcoming Barriers to School Reentry

 

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) announces the availability of "Overcoming Barriers to School Reentry." This 2-page Fact Sheet describes a model for overcoming barriers to school reentry developed by how the Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) in New York City.

For youth leaving custody, a return to school is integral to successful reentry into the community. The Fact Sheet details how three CASES programs (the Committee on Court-Involved Students, the School Connection Center, and the Community Prep High School) are helping court-involved youth continue their education and reenter their communities.
