Indiana School Counseling Standards

Indiana Student Standards for Guidance
(2003) These voluntary standards include 1) academic development, 2) career development, and 3) citizenship development. Indicators falling under each standard are organized by developmental level (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) and represent the knowledge and skills that students may master within each standard. VOLUNTARY

Indiana Universal Student Indicators for Guidance
(2003) This document includes a subset of the indicators found in the Indiana Student Standards for Guidance and are thought to be key for student success. While voluntary, it is hoped that every school will help students master these "universal" indicators. Schools seeking the Gold Star School Counseling Recognition (see below) must address each of the universal indicators. VOLUNTARY

Program Standards for School Counseling
(2003) These nine voluntary standards reflect the practices of a sound school counseling program. Schools seeking the Gold Star School Counseling Recognition prepare a program portfolio to document their alignment with each standard. VOLUNTARY

Portfolio Guidelines - Indiana Program Standards for School Counseling
These guidelines help schools develop a School Counseling Program Portfolio to demonstrate they have addressed each of the Indiana Program Standards for School Counseling. VOLUNTARY
