Instructional Shifts in College and Career Readiness:  Strategies that Empower Teaching and Learning

Purpose:
Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the Indiana Academic Standards for English/Language Arts and Mathematics (2014) and related resources to make students college and career ready. Educators will be exposed to proven instructional strategies in delivering the new standards.

Participants:
Teams are recommended and may be comprised of central office and building level administrators, instructional coaches, CTE educators, elementary teachers, secondary E/LA & math teachers, secondary content area teachers, higher education faculty, and parents & community organizations.

Cost:
The registration and professional development are provided at no cost to participants.  Space may be limited due to location capacity.

Registration closes seven days prior to the date of each event.

Professional growth points (PGPs) certificates will be available.

Additional support will be provided on an ongoing basis via development of further resources, invitations for locally-held sessions for large groups, and partnerships with Indiana associations.

Doors open 30 min. prior to the start times listed.

The Indiana Department of Education is looking forward to these 10 regional professional development sessions and recognizes the high demand for access to this important content. We are working on web-based versions of these sessions and materials to share with all educators in October 2014.
